West Chicago

10/23/2011

Beautiful parks, peaceful prairies and a town full of pride are just a few of the images we encountered during our visit to the city of West Chicago...which was built to be a smaller version of Chicago. This railroad town, that was home to the stockyards, now boasts a variety of businesses and a spectacular view of the outdoors. First up, we headed to a deli where many locals go when they want good food on the go. For a taste of the outdoors you can experience Reed Keppler Park. Another area in this county that offers an explosion of colors is the West Chicago. Okay a town just isn't a town unless there's a main street. Here on this street you can find food and a little bit of culture. Another local favorite that serves up a variety of Mexican delights is also on this popular street. This family owned and operated business serves a variety of Mexican dishes like Parrillada with your choice of seafood or steak, served with rice and beans. Lastly, we stopped at a boutique that caters to man's best friend known as Natural Healing Whole Dog Wellness.
